Devil's Brigade Rifle Series Membership

Devil's Brigade Rifle Series Membership

The Devil’s Brigade Rifle Series is a grassroots, local based, mid to long range rifle competition series.  The goal of this rifle series is to bring in new shooters to the sport while keeping the experienced competitors shooting without breaking the bank and keeping the competition interesting by competing against their peer shooters within their division.  With the intent of having matches within an easy drive and in beautiful landscapes, the Devil’s Brigade Rifle Series will easily be the prettiest rifle series in North America.

The Devil’s Brigade Rifle Series will be a series of 1 day matches with the intent of keeping costs low and the fun and skill building high.  The season will wrap up with a 2 day finale.  We welcome participants from everywhere, not just Montana. The individual series matches and finale will be open to non-members. Only members will be eligible for Season Finale Trophies and swag though. The finale prize table will be a raffle drawing benefiting the Green Beret Foundation.

DBRS will have divisions that will break down the skill level of the competitors.  The divisions will be based on the percentage that they shoot of the top shooter’s score.  Shooters can gain “rank” by shooting 3 matches in a row at the higher level.  Once the shooter is in a rank, they cannot go down a rank.

We welcome families, including children under 18 years of age when accompanied by an adult.  We also welcome new shooters.  If you are signing up a family there will be an additional 10% off for each additional person in the family (built into the price selection).

COST:  $40 for series membership.  Each individual match will have their own entry fees.  Membership includes some type of series swag (tumbler, water bottle are just a few ideas) and will help pay for the time involved to manage the series.  Any extra money will be used to help pay for DBRS Finale trophies, or other necessary gear to help the matches run smoothly (like tablets, hit indicators, etc).

  • Marksman- (0 - 50%)
  • Expert- (50.01 - 80%)
  • Master- (80.01 – 100%)
  • Ladies and Juniors (14 and under) will be ranked according to their abilities.  They will be kept track of separately for a finale trophy for each category, but during regular season matches no distinction will be given.
  • When competitors are at their first match, that is where they will gain their division.  They will be automatically placed into the Master Division at their first match to prevent any sand baggers and then disseminated afterwards to their skill level.

Match style and content will be up to the individual match directors as long as MDs follow firearm safety rules, the 180 degree firing line, and common sense.  Each match should follow the “dead target” rule of once it is hit the shooter moves on.  We are not trying to burn barrels and components of the individuals, but to build skills and enjoy ourselves.

The individual matches have no prize table.  Cash payout to the top 3 of each division would be optimal, but that is the MD’s discretion.
