A couple of weeks ago, we hosted our second Precision Rifle Series match, Big Medicine Precision Rifle Challenge, near Dupuyer, MT. This match was presented by Manner's Composite Stocks and was hugely successful.
Hosting a match during the Covid-19 craziness brought some challenges, but we were able to work through them and ended up with a great turnout. The sponsors were amazing and we ended up with a fantastic prize table where everyone was able to go home with something, including our RO's.
The match itself was right on the Rocky Mountain Front in one of the prettiest places (in our opinion) and was designed to highlight the natural terrain features and epic backdrop. We had a bit of a hike to get to the stages, where competitors then shot down into the valley below. With ELR targets out to 1708 yards and other stages as close as 400, it presented a diverse course of fire that was physically and mentally challenging.
In addition to the normal rifle shooting, we incorporated a tomahawk throw and a bow and arrow shoot into a few stages to highlight some of our sponsors (Toelke Traditional Archery and Cold Steel) equipment. A man on man side match was held and all money raised from this and the mulligans, was donated to the Recon & Sniper Foundation (Nick Harper donated his winnings back for being the winner of the Man on Man - Thank you Nick!). A handful of RSF gentleman helped with the match as RO's, set up and tear down, live interviews and general support. It was a pleasure working with them and we were very happy to be able to donate $1050 to the foundation.
Congratulations to the winners! They definitely had to earn their wins!
